Craft & Process

Each Konouz replica is developed through a careful balance of scholarly research, advanced reproduction technologies, and the skilled work of Egyptian artisans.

Every piece begins with careful research and historical documentation. The process combines modern precision with traditional craftsmanship to ensure that each artifact reflects both the structural fidelity and artistic character of the original work.

Research & Historical Documentation

The development of every replica begins with historical research and documentation conducted in collaboration with historians and Egyptologists. Original artifacts are studied for their proportions, symbolism, materials, and historical context. This research establishes the foundation for each reproduction, ensuring that the artifact's cultural meaning and artistic language are accurately understood before the production process begins.

Reproduction & Structural Fidelity

Konouz employs advanced reproduction technologies to ensure accurate proportions and structural fidelity to the original artifact. Digital modeling, scanning, and controlled production processes allow the artifact's form and scale to be carefully reproduced. These methods establish the structural foundation of each piece before it is refined through artisan finishing.

Artisan Finishing

While technology establishes the structure, the final character of each piece emerges through the work of skilled Egyptian artisans. Craftspeople refine surfaces, shape details, apply finishing treatments, and complete the final stages of production by hand. These artisans carry generations of craft knowledge in carving, finishing, and decorative techniques that connect contemporary production with Egypt's long artistic traditions.

Materials & Surface Treatment

Materials are selected according to the classification of each replica, balancing long-term durability with fidelity to the visual and material character of the original artifact. Each piece undergoes careful surface treatment and finishing to reproduce textures, patina, and surface qualities consistent with the historical object.

Review & Certification

Before leaving the Konouz workshop, every replica undergoes careful review to ensure it meets the brand's standards of craftsmanship, accuracy, and finishing detail. Once approved, the artifact is accompanied by its official certificate issued in collaboration with the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, confirming its classification and historical grounding.

Through this process, each Konouz artifact is developed with careful attention to historical accuracy, craftsmanship, and cultural integrity before receiving its official certification.
