The innermost coffin of the ancient Egyptian courtier Yuya is an exquisite, anthropoid (mummy-shaped) masterpiece. Discovered in the nearly intact Valley of the Kings tomb KV46 in 1905. The lid prominently features the vulture goddess Nekhbet spreading her wings, clutching shen rings. Below her, an embossed figure of the sky goddess Nut holds her arms up in protection, bordered by inlaid hieroglyphic columns.
