Three beds were discovered in the tomb of Tutankhamun that were different from his other beds: The texts on them make it clear that these were for the use of the deceased king, probably for rituals relating to rebirth into the afterlife. The two sides of each of these funerary beds were made in the shape of an animal, one of these being lionesses. This Konouz product faithfully emulates one of the two heads of the lionesses who are believed by most to depict the goddess Isis-Mehtet.
