This statue represents Ka-aper, a high-ranking lector priest, depicted in a confident striding pose with one foot advanced. His rounded body and assured stance convey wealth and social prominence. The carefully modeled face and deeply expressive eyes give the figure a strikingly lifelike presence, emphasizing individuality and character. The vivid naturalism of the figure was so compelling that modern excavators associated it with a living village chief, earning the statue its enduring nickname, Sheikh el-Balad.
